Procurement

• Coordinates outgoing service contracts, purchases, and other actions to advance conservation investments nationwide.
• Works closely with Conservation Awards and program staff to coordinate the procurement of services and goods.
• Supports contracting and procurement policies while ensuring compliance with funding terms and conditions.
• Develops procurement strategies for pending solicitations and assists in the development and review of requests for proposals.
• Reviews contract/amendment language for consistency with policies and requirements and provides input on matters for additional review.
• Reviews and drafts contracts/amendments, negotiates changes with project leads and vendors, and recommends language updates to templates.
• Serves as a resource to staff and prospective vendors, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Trains and mentors staff on current procurement processes and requirements.

Contracts and Procurement Associate

• Coordinate outgoing service contracts and other similar actions to advance the organization's operational and administrative procurement needs.
• Work closely with NFF’s Marketing, Information Technology, Finance, People and Culture, and administrative teams to coordinate the procurement activities.
• Lead vendor solicitations and review and negotiation of complex vendor contracts.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies and due diligence processes.
• Advise leadership on risk exposure and recommend contract modifications.
• Serve as a resource to staff and prospective vendors, guiding through defined processes.
• Train and mentor staff on current procurement processes.

Contracts and Procurement Associate Manager

Program Manager

• Provide programmatic leadership to successfully plan, develop, implement, and manage a portfolio of restoration and forest resilience projects.
• Facilitate collaborative efforts and manage complex funding mechanisms.
• Supervise program staff and collaboratively work with NFF’s technical advisory teams and the U.S. Forest Service.
• Support and supervise up to four staff by helping develop their scopes of work, provide networking and fundraising support, and professional development guidance.
• Lead collaborative development of field team strategies and work plans.
• Work directly with contractors, consultants, nonprofit organizations, agency partners, and/or private landowners to coordinate the on-the-ground implementation of stewardship projects.
• Oversee the advertising, negotiation, and awarding of contracts for services related to project implementation.
• Manage program and project budgets and reporting associated with agreements and contracts with federal, state, local governments, and contractor services.
• Provide collaborative conservation expertise and facilitation support for priority regional initiatives.
• Draft and revise meeting agendas and facilitation-related meeting materials.
• Expand existing partnerships with local National Forest Service partners.

Southern Appalachian Forests Program Manager

Director

• Advance, and continue to grow NFF programs of work related to wetland and wet meadow restoration, reforestation, and the restoration of imperiled ecosystems.
• Build and develop a close and mutually beneficial relationship between the U.S. Forest Service, the NFF, and other state, federal, local government, corporate, and NGO partners to innovate practices and create efficiencies in achieving conservation at scale.
• Directly manage ongoing national programs of work and partnerships across the U.S.
• Develop new programs and support the implementation of place-based projects with public and private sector partners that support the NFF’s strategic initiatives and long-term goals related to land and watershed restoration.
• Directly supervise staff positions and their respective programs of work, providing oversight, coaching, and regular guidance.
• Provide guidance, coordination, and support to NFF Field leadership positions and other integrated NFF staff to support the comprehensive delivery of NFF’s programs and services.
• Organize, manage, and facilitate regular team meetings, and develop processes and systems for effective and efficient operations across the Land and Watershed Enterprise team.
• Support the development and management of program and project-level budgets.
• Review and provide due diligence for incoming and outgoing grants, contracts, and agreements associated with this program of work.
• Effectively communicate with and engage the public in caring for their National Forests and Grasslands through community-based conservation initiatives.
• Maintain a breadth of knowledge about current trends, emerging issues, policy interventions, and innovations in the field of ecosystem restoration to enhance the NFF strategic efficacy.
• Serving as a cross-regional point of contact for watershed, reforestation, and imperiled ecosystem conservation and development activities.

• Directing strategy, implementation, and management of competitive and invited grantmaking, procurement, and contracting processes that advance NFF program goals.
• Implementing and refining organizational grantmaking and procurement policies and processes.
• Ensuring compliance with federal regulations, NFF policies, and risk-management expectations.
• Advising leadership on compliance matters, process improvements, risk exposure, and operational needs.
• Leading and mentoring approximately 15 FTEs across the Grantmaking and Contracts & Procurement teams, including two direct reports: the Grantmaking Senior Manager and the Contracts and Procurement Attorney.
• Developing and implementing strategies to enhance grantmaking programs and procurement systems in alignment with the NFF strategic plan.
