About the role
- Manage commercial, industrial, builder/developer, rural extension, and renewable energy projects providing exceptional customer experience and repeat business
- Oversee new business gas distribution and electric transmission projects
- Review and analyze complex construction drawings, permits, easements, agreements, and other documents for project design
- Provide technical advice to customers and advise on both sides of meter (installation process in front of the meter and expectations behind the meter)
- Build relationships with key organizations and external stakeholders
- Work within a team environment to achieve common goals
- Coordinate with internal departments to complete projects through meter installation and ensure exceptional customer experience
- Manage commit dates and align internal resources and materials with customer site readiness
- Communicate company tariff details and how they impact new business
- Seek capital authorization for new business investments in compliance with policy
- Contract with customers for service as specified and authorized by policy
- Manage multiple electric and gas projects simultaneously at various stages of completion and recognize job site issues
- Perform duties under stringent deadlines, schedules, and conditions
- Assist with restoration efforts during power outages
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
- One (1) to two (2) years of experience in gas and electric distribution and transmission engineering principles
- Ability to read/interpret construction prints and apply basic surveying principles
- Knowledge of project management processes
- Working knowledge of budgeting and scheduling practices
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Elevated level of people skills with ability to manage and resolve demanding situations
- Demonstrated problem solving, organization, time management, analytical and planning skills
- Exercises independent judgment and initiates solutions with little supervision
- Travel may be required
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
- Candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug screening
