About the role
- Lead and deploy HR strategic initiatives within the Sacramento plant and across the business
- Serve as active member of the local management team providing HR leadership on policies, procedures, laws and regulations
- Lead the Sacramento HR Team (2 HR Generalists, 1 HR Coordinator) supporting approximately 500 team members
- Provide communications and development opportunities for HR team and build relationships across organization
- Manage change processes and analyze workforce trends, data, and statistics to guide management
- Coach managers and supervisors; assist in performance management and leadership development
- Participate in Safety Committee and roll out safety policies and training; oversee Workers Compensation case management
- Partner with Talent Acquisition for recruitment; partner with Comp & Benefits for benefits escalations and administration
- Oversee benefits enrollment, terminations, 401K, STD, LTD and manage OSHA compliance and facility safety initiatives
- Investigate team member concerns and provide recommendations for resolution
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/or Masters degree in a relevant field
- 8 to 10 years HR Generalist experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading an HR team is preferred
- Great communication skills and ability to work well with manufacturing team members and leaders
- Knowledge of all aspects of HR including benefits, recruiting, compensation, training, payroll, policies & procedures
- Collaboration skills working within HR and across multiple functions and teams
- Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations regarding employment practices
- Ability to manage and prioritize time efficiently and effectively
- Superior presentation and analytical skills
- Demonstrated skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
