About the role
- Support the operation of multi-tenant OpenStack private cloud environments running in on-premises data centers.
- Assist in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining Ubuntu KVM hypervisors, OpenStack services, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Work alongside senior engineers on data center infrastructure, including compute, storage, and networking components.
- Contribute to infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi for provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Support CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes, including upgrades, patching, validation, and rollback processes.
- Monitor infrastructure health using Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and related observability tools.
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting Linux, virtualization, storage, and networking issues, escalating when needed.
- Assist with high availability and disaster recovery practices across infrastructure components.
- Join on-call rotations under guidance and contribute to post-incident reviews and documentation.
- Collaborate with global platform, SRE, and operations teams to improve reliability and operational practices.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure operations within data center or private cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with SDS solutions (e.g., Ceph, Longhorn).
- Practical experience with OpenStack and Ubuntu-based KVM virtualization.
- Exposure to Kubernetes infrastructure (cluster operations, not only application deployment).
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi.
- Solid Linux administration skills (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS) with basic scripting in Bash or Python.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automation concepts.
- Basic understanding of:
- Hypervisors (KVM, VMware vSphere), Software-defined storage and protocols (Ceph, iSCSI, NFS), Data center networking fundamentals (L2/L3, routing, load balancing)
- Ability to work in 24×7 production environments and participate in on-call rotations.
- Nice to Have: Exposure to data center hardware such as Cisco UCS or similar server platforms. Familiarity with software-defined storage solutions. Experience supporting high-availability or multi-region OpenStack clusters.
