The Vice President, M&A Partner Development is responsible for managing the entire sales experience for new M&A prospects sourced through multiple channels (community referrals, recruiters and sell-side Investment Bankers.
Responsibilities for this role include cultivating strong professional relationships with contacts and investment bankers and excellent deal management from initial contact through closing.
Success in this role requires sounds business judgement, industry acumen and excellent relationship management.
As a senior executive of the firm, this role acts as an ambassador for Mercer Advisors within the industry.
Development and Nurturing Investment Banker, Recruiter, and Community Relationships: Ongoing communication and collaboration with contacts to ensure that we receive high quality leads that are consistent with our acquisition priorities
Attend industry events as a representative of Mercer Advisors to connect with Bankers and potential prospects
Provide timely responses and proactive outreach on all deal communications
Quickly identify and screen best fit opportunities that match Mercer Advisors target profile characteristics
Lead Management and Sales Process: Manage all aspects of sales process to successfully progress qualified leads through pipeline stages
Effective communication with M&A prospects regarding Mercer Advisors service model, platform capabilities and value proposition to differentiate from competitors
Facilitate outstanding Mercer Advisors Office Visit experience for M&A prospects including quarterbacking and clearing reverse due diligence items
Analyze target financial statements and operational data, CIMs, and other qualitative or strategic considerations to inform valuation models and recommendations to company leadership
Coordinate with finance, legal, and the deal team leaders on pre-LOI and confirmatory diligence workflows to ensure a smooth and efficient path-to-close
Support pre-closing activities including client consent process, new team-member communications and handoff to Partner Integration team members
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or other applicable business disciplines required
Advanced degree in industry (e.g., MBA) preferred
10+ years relevant consultative sales experience in partnership with Investment Bankers.
