About the role
- Defines, describes, diagrams and documents the role and interaction of high-level technological and human components to provide cost effective and innovative solutions
- Promotes, guides and governs good architectural practice through application of proven technology and human interaction patterns and through architecture mentorship
- Supports full lifecycle management of IT portfolio including selection, usage, enhancement and replacement of applications, infrastructure and services
- Architect and implement Price Optimizer solutions across pricing and contracting systems, ensuring cohesive system integration
- Act as trusted advisor bridging Pricing & Contracting and IT; ensure stakeholders understand how solutions and data drive business decisions
- Translate business needs into solution architecture plans and explain implementation approaches
- Lead discovery sessions, gather requirements and ensure thorough documentation
- Ensure all solutions comply with regulatory and data privacy standards
- Provide guidance on pricing related solutions and best practices
- Analyze complex challenges and deliver clear, actionable solutions
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and deliver more efficient ways of working
- Participate in agile meetings, especially for high-level architecture considerations
- Build expertise in Medtronic’s products, customers, and markets to deliver relevant solutions
- Evaluate Deal Price Optimizer and price setting processes and champion IT solutions that add value for customers and patients
- Work directly with pricing and contracting teams and align with the Chief Architect; may require ~5% travel
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of experience with an advanced degree
- Solid understanding of system design and development lifecycles
- Experience implementing technologies that span automation, Pricing, Quoting and Contracting
- Experience in Quote-To-Cash transformation journey in at least 2 large implementation cycles
- Experience with Quote-To-Cash software and IT SDLC lifecycle; preference for technical development skillset in SAP ABAP and Vistex Technology
- Able to read technical codes, sequence diagrams and pseudo-code when necessary
- Solid background in Quote-To-Cash business analysis including use cases, swim lanes, story cards, and value streams
- Understanding of Excel and how to extract/analyze data
- Experience working in agile methodology
- Experience defining new processes and improving existing processes
- Demonstrated ability to solicit clear requirements; translate those requirements into technical specifications; and deliver accurate, reliable solutions
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical topics to business management and users
- Self-motivated problem solver; ability to navigate ambiguity
- Ability to develop effective relationships with business users, technical staff, and executive management
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to work onsite approximately 4 days a week and travel ~5%
