About the role
- Lead a dynamic team and collaborate across departments (R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing) to execute critical projects on released surgical products
- Ensure program teams are efficient, effective, and well-coordinated with clear priorities, milestones, and goals
- Develop, monitor and enforce schedules, plans, tasks, and priorities to ensure streamlined workflow
- Manage budgets including labor resources; forecast and track accruals and actuals
- Drive problem-solving sessions, maintain urgency, and hold team members accountable to commitments
- Anticipate and mitigate risks, balancing time, schedule, cost, and quality while adhering to safety and regulatory standards
- Direct, develop, and coordinate the activities of Program/Project Managers supporting Core Surgical Innovations efforts
- Lead cross-functional teams to evaluate, develop, and manage projects focused on sustaining the CSI portfolio and enhancing product reliability
- Cultivate a broad understanding of Medtronic's Core Surgical Innovations portfolio to drive project success
- Manage project financials and ensure projects are completed on time and on budget in compliance with established processes
- Participate in and support in-person collaboration (minimum of 4 days onsite); role located at North Haven, CT office

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience with 6 years of project/direct management experience or Advanced Degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience with 6 years of project/direct management experience
- 4 years of experience in project management or commercial new product delivery in a regulated industry (e.g. medical, automotive, aerospace, etc.)
- High degree of competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Proven track record of successfully managing within a matrixed organization
- Experience working with Program/Project Managers with a history of increasing engagement
- Nice to have: 10+ years of experience in Project Management or commercial new product delivery
- Nice to have: MBA and PMP / CSM Certification preferred
- Knowledge in product development, project management, and commercialization in the medical device industry
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; must possess excellent relationship building skills with direct reports, peers, and senior leaders
- Must be able to lead cross-functional discussions; driving towards alignment, decisions, resolutions when necessary
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once while understanding cultural differences between various regions of the world
- Experience with developing and/or commercializing complex medical devices (e.g. staplers, sutures, clip appliers, etc.)
- Experience with advanced scheduling and resource management tools like Microsoft Project and Resource First
- Experience working under regulations of the FDA, notified bodies, and other regulatory agencies for successful commercial launches
- Product launch experience working with Global teams
