About the role
- Perform a variety of duties in the Electronic, Mechanical, Electromechanical and Optical areas
- Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, devices or systems
- Develops Engineering solutions using DMAIC methodology
- Works from schematics, Engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions
- Conducts tests and reports data in prescribed I.T. format
- Performs alignment checks, modifications and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions
- Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, IT and product development
- Responsible for the installation, calibration and preventative maintenance of on-line process equipment
- Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and control of appropriate documentation outlining product processing work steps
- Provide technical support to Lean Sigma initiatives/continuous improvement projects or other task/project teams as required
- Assist with Engineering and Manufacturing training
- Support and participate in corrective/preventive action procedures and support the collection and trending of product line metrics
Requirements
- Minimum NFQ Level 6 degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Ability to demonstrate Medtronic traits in their work and good presentation skills are desirable
- A dynamic team player and can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams
- A good communicator and fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Experienced with computer literacy and team dynamic skills
- Knowledge of statistical tools is an advantage
