About the role

  • Report to the ISM Ops Network leader as a key member of Medtronic’s center-led Indirect Supply Management (ISM) team
  • Global project-based role partnering with stakeholders across functions, regions, and businesses
  • Assigned specific manufacturing sites with direct responsibility for identifying, initiating, and executing improvement projects that reduce spend and generate value within the MRO category
  • Identify, lead, and execute projects that deliver economic value to the global Operations Networks
  • Engage and influence stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization
  • Partner closely with the center-led category managers to understand and implement key pan-Medtronic strategies
  • Represent and share network and site-specific requirements and strategies with the center-led category management organization
  • Partner with legal, finance, quality/compliance and other supporting functions
  • Ensure manufacturing sites are adequately supported through consistent engagement, dashboards on key metrics, site-level diagnostics and workshops to identify savings opportunities
  • Manage supplier quality and ensure supply continuity
  • Educate on key indirect supply management initiatives and policies
  • Develop robust data gathering and data quality maintenance protocols to ensure spend transparency
  • Initiate and implement appropriate category strategy changes
  • Create and establish internal and external benchmark analysis, including gap analysis and required actions to achieve functional advantage
  • Lead supplier negotiation efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant strategic sourcing experience (or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant strategic sourcing experience)
  • Nice to Have: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, information systems, business discipline, plus 5+ years of work experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain, operations, or any functional area with demonstrated analytical and project-based acumen
  • Category Management experience in MRO or Operations categories
  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
  • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders
