About the role

  • Lead and manage APAC sales team and distributor network to achieve and exceed revenue targets. Serve as the regional commercial lead, owning business planning, forecasting, execution, and performance management. Travel extensively across the region to provide direct field coaching and ensure alignment on messaging, sales tools, and value proposition delivery. Define country-specific strategies that balance direct sales and distributor-led growth models based on market maturity and opportunity.
  • Develop, expand, and optimize MaxCyte’s distributor network across the region, with a focus on underserved or emerging markets. Implement structured distributor engagement practices including performance metrics, quarterly business reviews, training programs, and co-marketing initiatives. Ensure distributors are held accountable to agreed-upon revenue goals, activity plans, and compliance standards. Identify and onboard new distribution partners where necessary, applying an entrepreneurial mindset to open new markets.
  • Drive disciplined business planning and performance tracking through KPIs and dashboards. Work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Commercial Excellence teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment, forecasting accuracy, and supply chain reliability. Proactively identify operational gaps and propose improvements in processes to enhance commercial scalability and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and sustain relationships with top accounts in pharma, biotech, and academia to support commercial goals and establish MaxCyte as a trusted partner. Maintain a visible presence at customer sites and industry events to gather insights, drive adoption, and promote MaxCyte’s brand. Lead Voice of Customer efforts in the region to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Align regional sales, marketing, and field applications strategies in partnership with global counterparts. Provide feedback from the field to Product Management and R&D on evolving customer needs and unmet applications. Partner with Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance teams to ensure all commercial activities adhere to local laws and corporate policies.
  • Financial Management Develop and manage the regional budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with financial goals. Analyze financial and commercial performance metrics to inform strategy and drive continuous improvement Identify cost-effective growth levers and operational efficiencies across commercial and support activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science, biomedical, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of sales and commercial leadership experience in the life sciences industry, including 5+ years in sales management
  • Demonstrated success leading regional sales teams and managing complex distributor relationships in APAC
  • Strong planning, forecasting, and metric-driven decision-making skills
  • Experience in launching and scaling distribution networks in emerging APAC markets
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with hands-on approach to market development and problem-solving
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English; additional APAC languages are a plus
  • Ability to travel extensively within the region (up to 50%)
  • Preferred: Prior experience as a General Manager or P&L leader in APAC
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus
  • Deep understanding of capital equipment sales and complex B2B sales cycles
