About the role
- Manage and mentor a growing team of product designers at multiple levels
- Coach designers in craft, confidence, and impact through thoughtful feedback
- Create an environment where designers feel supported, challenged, and empowered
- Guide the team in designing AI-forward tools and workflows that turn intelligence into intuitive, action-driven experiences for operators
- Jump into strategic projects to shape early thinking, clarify direction, and guide execution
- Bring our design vision to life by ensuring it’s reflected in every experience we ship
- Collaborate on hiring, onboarding, and evolving team practices as we scale
- Help refine our design principles, feedback culture, and ways of working
- Partner with product, marketing, engineering, and data to align vision and push high-priority work forward
- Advocate for user-centered thinking, bring structure to ambiguity, and ensure the team is focused on solving the right problems
- Help designers navigate cross-functional complexity and connect user value to business impact
Requirements
- 8+ years of total design experience; 2+ years managing product designers
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and grow designers at different levels
- A track record of shipping thoughtful, user-centered features and helping others bring clarity to complexity
- Strong communication skills—you set direction clearly and bring cross-functional teams along
- A point of view on how emerging technologies can support real-world workflows
- Experience collaborating across departments to shape and ship great work
- A practical, collaborative leadership style that’s supportive, grounded, and willing to jump into the work when needed
- Nice to Haves: Experience growing or scaling a design team in a startup or growth-stage environment
- Nice to Haves: Familiarity with design systems, growth design, or AI-informed workflows
- Nice to Haves: Experience at a venture-based startup or growth-stage company
