About the role

  • Provide high-quality, short-term, evidence-based clinical therapeutic and consultative services via telehealth and in-person to child and adolescent patients and their family members in WE CARE Clinic under a board-approved supervisor.
  • Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy to improve mental health, resiliency, and coping skills.
  • Consult with Board Approved Supervisor per Board, Institutional, and Department standards.
  • Perform counseling, evaluation, treatment, and plan using evidence-based practices; create individualized treatment plans and review progress toward goals.
  • Assure continuity of care, convey assessment findings, and implement therapeutic plans.
  • Complete documentation and safety plans according to program policies and institutional standards.
  • Connect families and caregivers to institute and community resources.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and participate in case consultation; coordinate with family members to engage patients in care.
  • Identify obstacles to optimal patient care, risk reduction, and health promotion.
  • Perform crisis interventions as needed.
  • Develop support and community engagement programs for caregivers and patients; facilitate or lead therapeutic and support groups.
  • Participate in program evaluation activities including data collection for grants and patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Perform administrative duties, outreach, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or higher in professional counseling or related field is required.
  • Up to one (1) year related experience.
  • Registered with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors as an LPC Associate (LPC-A) required.
  • QMHP eligible and on track to LPC preferred.
  • To be considered, candidate must have under 300 direct hours towards LPC license.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills and attention to accuracy and detail.
