About the role
- Provide high-quality, short-term, evidence-based clinical therapeutic and consultative services via telehealth and in-person to child and adolescent patients and their family members in WE CARE Clinic under a board-approved supervisor.
- Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy to improve mental health, resiliency, and coping skills.
- Consult with Board Approved Supervisor per Board, Institutional, and Department standards.
- Perform counseling, evaluation, treatment, and plan using evidence-based practices; create individualized treatment plans and review progress toward goals.
- Assure continuity of care, convey assessment findings, and implement therapeutic plans.
- Complete documentation and safety plans according to program policies and institutional standards.
- Connect families and caregivers to institute and community resources.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and participate in case consultation; coordinate with family members to engage patients in care.
- Identify obstacles to optimal patient care, risk reduction, and health promotion.
- Perform crisis interventions as needed.
- Develop support and community engagement programs for caregivers and patients; facilitate or lead therapeutic and support groups.
- Participate in program evaluation activities including data collection for grants and patient satisfaction surveys.
- Perform administrative duties, outreach, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in professional counseling or related field is required.
- Up to one (1) year related experience.
- Registered with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors as an LPC Associate (LPC-A) required.
- QMHP eligible and on track to LPC preferred.
- To be considered, candidate must have under 300 direct hours towards LPC license.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills and attention to accuracy and detail.
