About the role
- Lead solution architecture and engineering strategy for federal contracts, ensuring innovative, scalable, and compliant solutions
- Ensure alignment with customer missions across defense, security, IT, and engineering portfolios
- Partner with BD/Capture teams to develop winning proposals, solution blueprints, and technical volumes
- Serve as a thought leader in engineering, emerging technology, and solutions design to enhance market competitiveness
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (AI/ML, automation, cloud, cybersecurity, and digital engineering) into enterprise solution offerings
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, and vendors to drive innovation and growth opportunities
- Shape new service lines and technical capabilities to diversify and expand Makwa Global’s portfolio
- Provide executive oversight for engineering support on program delivery, ensuring high quality, compliance, and mission success
- Serve as executive sponsor for complex programs requiring advanced solutioning, integration, or transformation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and solution delivery practices
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing engineering and solutioning team
- Foster collaboration across business units and promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and customer success
- Partner closely with executive leadership, business development, and program management teams to shape competitive, compliant, and compelling solutions that drive growth and scalability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field required
- Master’s degree preferred
- 15+ years of progressive leadership in engineering, technology solutioning, or solution architecture
- At least 5 years in an executive role
- Demonstrated experience leading solutioning for federal government proposals and programs (DoD, DoS, DHS, or other federal agencies)
- Proven success developing and delivering innovative technical solutions in a GovCon or highly regulated environment
- Must have prior experience working directly with Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, with proven knowledge of federal contracting processes, compliance, and mission support
- Expertise in solution architecture, systems engineering, and emerging technologies (cloud, AI/ML, cybersecurity, digital transformation)
- Strong knowledge of proposal development processes (Shipley or similar) and federal acquisition regulations
- Exceptional communication and executive presence with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences
- Business acumen with proven ability to align technology solutions with corporate growth strategies
