About the role
- Work directly with attorneys, paralegals and other team members in Longroad’s legal department and gain exposure to a variety of legal disciplines and functions, including operations, corporate governance, and real estate
- Assist with and support matters falling under: real estate, permitting & local affairs, commercial, corporate and regulatory matters
- Assist in the review and drafting of corporate governance documents for consistency and compliance
- Assist with implementation of company internal policies and procedures
- Review and draft basic contracts
- Developing and/or updating systems for tracking matters that the legal department manages (e.g., corporate matters, NDAs, UCCs, etc.)
- Potentially visit operating wind and solar projects (funding will be provided for travel)
- Participate in onboarding, structured work experience, mentoring, and exposure both to department-specific and company-wide personnel and activities as part of the 10–12-week summer program
Requirements
- Undergraduate student at a 4-year college or rising 2L law student pursuing a Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school
- Preferred major of Political Science, Pre-Law, Economics, Environmental Studies or other related majors
- GPA of 3.0 or higher for college students or top 25% of class for law students
- Interest in Renewable Energy Industry and transactional legal work
- Curiosity
- Self-starter
- Strong written and organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Microsoft Office suite proficiency
- Cover letter highly preferred
- Ability to synthesize and organize large amounts of data
- A proactive style and ability to organize time well and set proper priorities both as instructed and self-imposed
