About the role
- Define and execute AI strategy balancing roadmap work with innovation-focused projects
- Lead and manage the AI/ML team across Generative AI and traditional ML projects
- Establish team operating procedures and serve as mentor to team members
- Oversee AI governance, risk, and compliance; develop internal and customer-facing governance assets
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Go-To-Market leaders to translate AI capabilities into customer outcomes and revenue
- Represent LivePerson externally as a thought leader through webinars, conferences, and publications
- Report directly to the Chief Technology & Product Officer and shape the AI vision for Conversational AI
Requirements
- A Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the AI/ML space
- At least 5-7 years in a leadership capacity
- Proven ability to develop and execute a strategic vision for an AI team
- Deep technical expertise in NLP, generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and data analysis
- Strong history of leading AI projects from conception to deployment as customer-facing products
- Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring, and growing AI/ML scientists and engineers
- Experience in customer-facing roles and partnering with sales and business units
- In-depth knowledge of AI ethics, security, compliance, and AI governance frameworks
- Hands-on experience conducting bias analyses and creating governance documentation
- Proven track record of establishing and refining operational processes for AI teams
