About the role
- Lead efforts to grow, inspire, and support global community of AI researchers, ML practitioners, and data engineers
- Represent LanceDB at conferences, meetups, and online forums
- Produce content and programs: tutorials, sample notebooks, datasets, videos, and blog posts
- Drive awareness and adoption of Lance and LanceDB through talks, workshops, meetups, and online engagement
- Build and support a thriving developer community across open source, forums, and user groups
- Partner with DevRel and engineering teams to ensure community feedback shapes product direction
- Design programs that strengthen engagement and foster long-term loyalty within the LanceDB ecosystem
Requirements
- Proven experience in building and growing developer communities (DevRel, developer advocacy, or community management)
- 5+ years in DevRel, software development, solutions architecture, or related roles
- Strong communicator across writing, teaching, video, and public speaking
- Solid technical background in AI/ML, data engineering, or infrastructure
- Passion for open source, developer experience, and empowering technical communities
