The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of components and materials procured from external suppliers for aerospace manufacturing.
This role involves collaborating with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards, conducting thorough assessments and Special Process audits, implementing quality control processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and safety.
Evaluate new and existing suppliers' capabilities, quality management systems, and adherence to corporate aerospace and or industry standard regulations to special processing requirements.
Conduct comprehensive supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with quality requirements and specifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to qualify new suppliers and ensure they meet the stringent quality standards of the aerospace industry.
Develop and implement quality control audit criteria, and execute supplier special processing audits to support product acceptance.
Perform thorough special process reviews and evaluations ensure compliance with aerospace processing specifications and standards.
Detect Special Processing audit check lists, log findings / discrepancies, coordinate effective Corrective and Preventative actions to closure in a timely manner.
Monitor supplier performance through regular evaluations, statistical analysis, and root cause analysis of non-conformances for potential affects to special processing.
Identify opportunities for special process audit improvements within the supply chain to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to drive quality improvement projects and initiatives, leveraging tools such as Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
Analyze quality data, trends, and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to drive continuous quality improvement.
Provide training and support to suppliers on special process qualifications and approval.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant quality experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related quality experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related quality experience.
Possess a valid state issued driver’s license
Nondestructive testing
Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality or other appropriate discipline and five (5) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong problem solving, RCCA and investigation experience.
Certified Quality Auditor strongly preferred and or Lead Auditor accreditation.
Ability to navigate and interpret data from Internal Data base systems, Nadcap eAuditNet, and or OASIS as applicable.
Prior Special Processing auditing experience
Fluent with MS Office Suite Software.
