Auditor

• Conduct inspections and audits of organic operators for compliance with USDA National Organic Program and other related standards
• Review farm, livestock and/or handling system plans in accordance with applicable regulations and standards
• Handle travel and scheduling logistics and conduct inspections of applicants and certified operations as assigned
• Assess compliance of operations with applicable regulations/standards and reports
• Communicate inspection results through excellent written and oral communication within established timelines
• Interface with certification staff to provide further information necessary for certification decisions
• Conduct peer evaluations of other inspectors in the field, as assigned
• Work collaboratively with other NICS/Ecocert staff to share context and information gathered during inspection trips and meetings with producers to help inform and improve NICS/Ecocert policies, procedures, and business practices
• Travel extensively 60-80% of the time throughout the United States.
