About the role
- Installation, configuration and upgrading of DB2 server software and related products
- Configure, install and maintain database management systems and ensure peak performance
- Manage user access and implement security standards to protect data
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery plans and DR management
- Perform DB2 patching, security health checks and vulnerability closure
- Database and query tuning, capacity planning and growth projections
- Troubleshoot technical issues and manage problems in large banking environments
- Manage database operations providing 24X7 support and ensure uptime as per SLA
- Manage incidents, service requests, change management and escalate as needed
- Coordinate database project plans, manage small projects and deliver by target dates
- Support end users and application developers and maintain customer relationships
- Ensure IT compliance and implement best-practice security principles to protect confidential data
- Propose and implement enhancements to improve performance and reliability
Requirements
- Minimum 6 Years of Work Experience with 4 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma Engineering
- Ready to provide 24X7 Support
- Good verbal and written communication Skills in English
- Installation, configuration and upgrading of DB2 server software and related products
- Experience on DB2 Database Management
- Experience on DB2 patching and security health check
- Good knowledge on database and query tuning
- Excellent technical troubleshooting skills and problem management in large banking environment
- Establish and maintain DB2 Database backup and recovery policies and procedures
- Knowledge on multiple database technologies is an added advantage
- Experience on implementation of Oracle patches and vulnerability closure on databases
- Good working knowledge on Oracle Replication technologies
- Experience on DR Management and practical experience on Oracle DR Invoke Procedure
- Manage Incidents, Service Request, Change management and track/close problems/issues timely
- Good knowledge on IT Compliance Audit practices and requirements
- Should have knowledge on current IT technologies and developments
- Ability to understand and manage customer expectations and requirements
- Ability to communicate and update Database Operations Status to internal management and provide required reports
