About the role

  • Plan, install, upgrade, implement, maintain and customize IBM CICS Transaction Server (TS) including Multi-Region Operation and WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
  • Plan, install, upgrade, implement, maintain and customize software used as or for Message Broker
  • Implement automated build process for WAS for development, test, and production environments
  • Establish CICS/TS intercommunications and implement authentication/authorization for WAS administrative functions and application confidentiality
  • Implement CICS/TS facilities including Function Request Shipping, Asynchronous Processing, Transaction Routing, Distributed Transaction Processing, and Web Support Services
  • Design and maintain integrity of production CICS/TS VSAM files and modify systems/regions per DoD requirements
  • Perform integration, regression, and concurrence testing of CICS/TS systems and applications
  • Provide technical services and reports to customer Government POC regarding IBM CICS, MQ, and WAS
  • Diagnose and resolve CICS environment system abends and abnormal operating problems using system logs, traces, dumps, job output, and monitoring tools
  • Administer IBM MQ series including initial install, channel, manager, and queue configuration
  • Create and maintain backup processing for CICS & MQ and associated products
  • Implement WAS high availability manager service to eliminate single points of failure
  • Support DoD Cyber Security requirements, ATO preparation, and security audits
  • Maintain all CICS/TS system exits written in IBM’s High Level Assembler Language (HLAL)
  • Analyze outages and provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports and lead mitigation efforts

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance and eligibility to acquire a Top Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math and seven years' experience with IBM CICS, MQ, and WebSphere products in a large mainframe environment
  • OR ten years' experience with IBM CICS, MQ, and WebSphere products in a large mainframe environment
  • Experience with IBM CICS Transaction Server (CICS/TS), Multi-Region Operation (MRO), and WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
  • Experience with Message Broker and Message Queuing (MQ) administration
  • Ability to plan, install, upgrade, implement, maintain, and customize CICS/TS, MQ, WAS, and Message Broker
  • Experience creating and interpreting system traces, dumps, job output, and monitoring tools to diagnose and resolve abends
  • Experience defining environment, channels, queue manager, and queue settings for IBM MQ
  • Ability to create, define, modify CICS parameters and create new regions
  • Experience implementing security management and auditing with RACF for z/OS
  • Experience maintaining CICS/TS system exits written in IBM High Level Assembler Language (HLAL)
  • Experience supporting DoD Cyber Security requirements, Authority to Operate (ATO) preparation, and security audits
  • Experience analyzing CICS, MQ, and WAS environments for performance tuning and providing recommendations
  • Experience performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and leading mitigation efforts
