Audits and inspections
Loss incident investigations
Performing environmental assessments and evaluations of job locations
Implementation, and compliance of new and existing programs.
Client facing role as company spokesperson.
Reports to President of company.
Requirements
Experience in the powerline construction industry (overhead transmission, distribution, foundations & substation)
Create, prepare, and enforce policies to establish a culture of safety and compliance.
Lead and oversee all aspects of development, implementation, and management of company compliance programs.
Provide, manage, and develop a comprehensive and accurate monthly report for members of senior management including safety trend reporting and improvement plans.
Ability to spot training and safety gaps and successfully develop solutions via new procedures or processes.
Set field expectations regarding site safety visit frequently and efficiently positioned employees for progression in utility safety field.
Function as spokesperson for all safety related business with key ingredient customers to inform and ensure satisfaction with corporate safety performance.
Knowledgeable on all safety regulations (OSHA, FMCSA) and minimum requirements as they pertain to the electrical powerline industry.
Knowledge of safe work behaviors and interpretation of HSE data.
Intermediate computer skills including a working knowledge of MS office applications.
Knowledge of KPA or other safety management software a must and how to interpret data to help executive leadership and field leadership make decisions.
Drive adherence to safety culture throughout entire organization through coaching, teaching, and empowering front-line leadership with the tools and knowledge needed.
Responsible for ensuring the apprenticeship program is administered and developed according to standards and industry guidelines.
Working knowledge of safety management systems like ISNET, Vero, etc and understanding of how to track and maintain documents so these systems are always up to date.
Well organized and effective at time management.
Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
Ability to efficiently participate in on-site inspections requires moderate walking and driving.
Moderate travel to each of the designated regions is required Must be available as needed 24/7/365 to respond to HSE incident events.
Requires Bachelor’s degree in a safety related field; CSP, CUSP certification preferred.
