About the role

  • Proven ability to identify, qualify, and secure new business by offering tailored solutions that align with the client’s operational needs
  • Ability to create detailed and accurate proposals, including estimates, pricing, and scope of work for large industrial projects
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address any project challenges and ensure a seamless client experience from initial engagement to job completion
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients through regular site visits, proactive communication, and ongoing service support
  • Establish new relationships and business opportunities with end users, facility managers, engineers, specifiers, contractors and others for the purposes of obtaining product specifications
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams: Product, Trade Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, Supply Chain, etc.
  • Develop strong relationships (dotted-line structure) as Signaling channel leader with Regional Sales Teams and Rep Agency partners; collaborate on project initiation, hand-offs, & specifications
  • Long-term team development – outline future team structure, identify key position needs for direct reports, contribute to growth strategy planning with Signaling Managing Director & Product Manager
  • Represent company as Subject Matter Expert (SME) at any necessary trade shows or industry events
  • Identify key competitors, provide market intelligence internally to identify gaps, assist with NPD ideation, & drive supply chain excellence
  • Drive periodic generation and executive reporting of business insights based on channel insight, data, and market trends

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years as account manager or sales engineer; lighting/electrical industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience working with and managing rep agencies
  • Overnight domestic travel of up to 75% required
