Work with cross-functional partners, including Sales and Operations, to investigate loan level fraud escalations
Provide recommendations on potential fraud incidents, including whether to proceed with the funding of the loan
Complete fraud reporting for committee meetings and ad hoc requests
Monitor monthly fraud statistics and identify monthly and quarterly fraud trends
Recommend changes to the control environment and fraud prevention strategies based off of fraud trends
Document reports to regulatory agencies, as necessary
Assist with fulfilling requests for external audits
Lead the development and deployment of annual and ad hoc fraud training
Maintain existing fraud policies and procedures and draft new policies and procedures as necessary
Assist with the customer complaint investigation process
Manage the company’s internal fraud lists
Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required
3-5 years of fraud management experience
Mortgage experience a plus
Demonstrated knowledge and application of laws and regulations including HMDA, ECOA, FCRA, and BSA/AML preferred
Ability to work with and communicate effectively with cross functional partners
Ability to draft written summaries clearly synthesizing recommendations
Thrives in a constantly-evolving & fast-moving environment
Ability to handle large volume of emails on a regular basis
Ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems
