About the role
- Prepare and publish monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Lead budgeting process across departments and provide financial forecasts
- Analyse budget variances and support strategic planning with financial insights
- Design and implement internal control systems and ensure tax and regulatory compliance
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies
- Monitor and manage cash flow and identify financial risks with mitigation strategies
- Supervise transactional team and management accountant; provide mentorship and training
- Collaborate with executive leadership, finance, operations, and commercial teams on financial strategy
- Role is Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm with some hybrid working option
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and financial regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., D365)
- ACCA / CIMA Qualified
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Leadership and communication abilities
- Attention to detail and organisational skills
- Experience supervising finance and accounting teams
- Ability to provide mentorship and training to junior staff
- Ability to develop strong supportive relationships with operations
- Ability to deal with ambiguity
