Develop, implement and maintain food safety and quality systems for Global Potato purchased items
Interact with development teams when ingredient functionality and sourcing are defined and specifications are created
Work with suppliers (ingredient, packaging, co-manufacturers/JVs) via phone, email, or on-site visits to clarify requirements, assess capabilities, evaluate risks, and verify quality systems
Conduct on-site and remote supplier assessments including GMPs, GAPs, HACCP plans, process controls, material supply management, and continuous improvement programs
Collaborate across the Food Group QA department and Simplot affiliates and coordinate with R&D, Purchasing, Innovation, and Operations
Manage subcontract assessments, scheduling, assessment review, calibration, and process improvement with third-party assessors
Coordinate document retrieval from suppliers and post documents to supplier folders and specification management system
Develop supplier food safety and quality policies, procedures, data capture and integrate into Food Group Quality systems
Participate in project meetings and ensure action items are completed or escalated to Manager Supplier Food Safety and Quality
Manage food safety incidents and investigations, perform root cause analysis, assist suppliers with corrective action plans, and support withdrawals/recalls
Support global supplier assessments and approvals, including ANZ Food Safety & Quality supply chain
Role located at the Caldwell Technical Center and requires significant travel (~75%)
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4-year college or university or equivalent experience
