Administrative Assistant

• Providing essential administrative support and logistical assistance for two departments at the IP: Network Support Unit and Social Work
• Managing scheduling, supporting team meetings, organizing documents, and handling logistics such as travel and vendor communication
• Providing essential support on behalf of both teams for the planning and delivery of the Innocence Network Conference
• Reporting to the Director of the Network Support Unit and to the Director of Social Work

Director

• Ensure smooth operation of the Intake Department; revise and update processes to improve efficiencies while maintaining quality
• Address accumulation of cases and expand evaluation to a broader range of claims of innocence
• Provide overall direction and management of the Intake department and supervise a cross-functional team of analytical, legal, administrative, and strategic staff
• Develop department strategy and annual goals; set annual departmental goals and manage the department’s annual budget
• Produce reports and analyses of progress toward goals and expand use of data to track case processing and outcomes
• General oversight of pro bono partner law firms in collaboration with the Intake Supervisor of Law Firm Partnerships
• Devise new tools, protocols, partnerships and strategies to improve evaluation efficiency
• Critically review current evaluation processes, protocols, and tools and implement technology improvements
• Oversee a multi-stage intake process from initial inquiry to full evaluation and presentation to Post-conviction Litigation
• Establish and operationalize quality review systems to ensure timely, high-quality evaluations
• Collaborate with Innocence Network organizations on case transfers and information sharing
• Hire, train, support, motivate and evaluate staff to implement the evaluation process and maintain quality and efficiency
• Report to the Chief Program Officer and work closely with the Director of Post-Conviction Litigation
• Work approximately 40 hours per week in a hybrid in-office model (three days in-office, including Wednesday anchor day)

Director of Intake and Case Evaluation

Attorney

• Lead Strategic Litigation in forensic sciences; collaborate with public defenders and defense counsel nationwide; work with leading scientists to advance litigation goals and train/speak about reform efforts
• Monitor emerging technologies and new forensic disciplines for validity, reliability, and racial bias; develop new litigation strategies to mitigate harmful tools
• Close interdepartmental collaboration with Post-Conviction Litigation, Policy and Data Science & Research Departments, and with the Special Advisor on Race and Wrongful Conviction at the Innocence Project
• The Staff Attorney reports to the Director of Strategic Litigation; this is a full-time position and requires travel
• We are not able to sponsor visas; eligible to work in the United States
• Work hour structure: approximately 40 hours per week; hybrid in-office model with in-office three days per week; anchor day on Wednesday; number of in-office days subject to change
