Senior Design Manager

Field Engineer

• As an OT Field Engineer, your primary focus will be the maintenance, repair, and commissioning of operational technology (OT) hardware, systems, and networks.
• This critical infrastructure is essential for the real-time monitoring and control of operational plant and processes across our Water and Water Recycling estate.
• Diagnostics, repair and replacement of OT field hardware to include Telemetry outstations and associated I/O modules, Power supplies, PLCs and HMIs, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Modems, Routers and Switches.
• Undertake minor modifications to process automation and control systems as required to support regulatory compliance and process continuity.
• Undertake preventive maintenance activities on OT field hardware, systems/networks.
• Perform firmware and software upgrades/patching of OT equipment to maintain security controls and compliance.
• Support Water and Water Recycling operational teams during planned maintenance activities to ensure OT assets are correctly shut down and brought back online to mitigate operational impact.
• Undertake site surveys, installation and commissioning of OT hardware, systems and networks.
• Perform minor PLC modifications and Telemetry IO wiring changes to support the introduction of new instrumentation and plant.

Insurance

• Coordinate and review maintenance activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with maintenance standards and asset strategies.
• Monitor maintenance performance, including completion rates, backlog, deferrals and cancellations, ensuring alignment with Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM ) and statutory obligations.
• Maintain and assure the quality of asset and maintenance data, ensuring accurate records are captured within asset management systems.
• Support the development of data-driven insights through condition monitoring, predictive maintenance and performance reporting.

• Ensuring the security, availability and resilience of OT networks, responding to alerts, incidents and security events to keep critical services running

• Carry out daily routine maintenance work on various treatment facilities, including general cleaning, sampling and maintenance tasks
• Carry out repairs and replacement work on a wide range of pumping and treatment plant assets
• Carry out fault finding on all mechanical assets, demonstrating a firm ‘first time fix’ attitude
• Carry out confined space entries, repairs of plant, and cleaning of tanks as required
