About the role
- Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise IT infrastructure
- Oversee on-premises and cloud-based systems ensuring reliability, scalability, security, and performance
- Operate with a security-first mindset and perform hands-on systems administration and engineering tasks
- Oversee the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of both on-premise and cloud infrastructure (servers, storage, network infrastructure, etc)
- Manage enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Ensure high availability and performance of mission-critical systems
- Transform existing solutions and services into streamlined and standardized approaches
- Perform systems administration activities, including management of Active Directory and Microsoft 365 tenants
- Maintain appropriate and regular patch management cycles, system monitoring, and performance optimization tasks
- Maintain robust identity and access management practices
- Manage aspects of general IT security administration, including endpoint protection and monitoring
- Remain up to date and informed of active threats in the cybersecurity landscape
- Respond to and manage security incidents effectively
- Work closely with the IT Service Desk and DevOps teams to ensure seamless delivery of Infleqtion’s IT services
- Identify areas of opportunity and drive the implementation of intuitive solutions that demonstrate measurable improvements
- Regularly review and contribute to meticulous documentation
- May require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws and regulations; work in office and laboratory environment and around technical equipment including computers and lasers; ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds; use automated office equipment; travel up to 10%
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in Systems Administration, Systems Engineering, Network Administration, Network Engineering, and IT Security Administration.
- Proven experience managing both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
- Strong knowledge of Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc)
- Strong knowledge of Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Strong knowledge of Networking topologies, protocols, and concepts (LAN, WAN, SDWAN, VPN, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, etc)
- Strong knowledge of IT security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO, NIST, SOC, HIPAA, etc)
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Preferred: Mix of technical and management certifications, such as Azure/AWS/Google Cloud certifications, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA, CISSP, ITIL, Project Management Professional (PMP)
