Develop and implement sales incentive compensation strategies that align with overall business objectives and drive desired sales behaviors
Design, develop, and implement sales incentive compensation plans, including salary structures, incentive plans, and other compensation programs
Collaborate with sales leadership, HR, finance, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, gain alignment, and ensure effective plan implementation
Oversee the performance management process related to incentive compensation, including setting sales targets, tracking performance, and calculating payouts
Utilize data analysis and modeling to assess the effectiveness of incentive compensation plans, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to sales compensation, working with legal and HR teams as needed
Lead a team of compensation professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support in their development
Oversee vendor relationships related to sales compensation administration, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
Identify opportunities to enhance sales compensation design, administration, and operations, implementing solutions for improvement
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
MBA or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in commercial operations, sales compensation, commercial analytics, or related fields
Experience in the genomic sequencing, medical device, or life sciences industries strongly preferred
At least 7 years in people leadership roles, preferably in commercial organizations
Global experience to work across various regions, strongly preferred
Deep understanding of sales compensation principles, best practices, and industry trends
Proficiency in using data analysis tools and techniques to assess plan performance and inform decision-making
Strong ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively with various levels of the organization
Ability to connect compensation strategy to overall business objectives and drive desired outcomes
Ability to identify and resolve complex issues related to sales compensation design and administration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
Familiarity with CRM systems, compensation management software, and other relevant tools
