About the role
- Lead a QA Community of Practice across 20+ QA professionals embedded in engineering teams
- Partner with Directors of Product, Engineering, UX, and DevOps to drive quality initiatives
- Develop and guide comprehensive QA standards, processes, and documentation
- Build and maintain regression testing suites to automate testing predeployment
- Implement real-time monitoring and dashboarding for production system health
- Think like bank clients and end users to identify operational gaps and advocate for quality
- Exercise authority to roadblock production releases when quality standards aren't met
- Drive evolution from manual to automated testing across the organization
- Mentor and develop QA talent, creating clear career progression paths
- Train existing manual QA staff in automation techniques and tools and hire/manage across teams
- Advocate for QA budget needs including tools, training, and headcount
- Foster collaboration between QA and product/engineering teams in a matrix organization
Requirements
- 5+ years in leadership roles managing distributed teams and complex projects
- Banking, finance, or fintech industry experience with understanding of regulatory requirements
- Proven track record of implementing QA processes in fast-paced, agile environments
- Experience with weekly or frequent release cycles
- Strong background in both manual and automated testing methodologies
- Experience mentoring and developing QA talent and managing distributed QA professionals
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, and agile methodologies
- Ability to roadblock production releases when quality standards aren't met
- Experience building and maintaining regression testing suites and driving automation
- Experience implementing real-time monitoring and dashboarding for production system health
- Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and process improvement
- Self-organizing, self-directing, and self-correcting work style; strong advocacy and leadership skills
- Exceptional planning skills and ability to lead through influence and example
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and currently located in the United States
