About the role
- Act as a subject matter expert in pricing across commercial, specialty, and reinsurance; join complex client and sales conversations, run best-practice workshops, and represent hx at industry forums.
- Partner with senior stakeholders (Chief Actuaries, CUOs, Heads of Pricing) as a trusted advisor on pricing transformation, workflows, and portfolio strategy; resolve challenges with amber-red accounts.
- Support customers through transformation journeys: deploy new models, re-engineer workflows, embed modern pricing processes, and build practical assets (reference models, reporting pipelines, workflow enhancements) to accelerate value from hx Renew.
- Feed back client and market insights into hx to inform the product roadmap and prioritise solutions that matter to the business.
- Contribute to innovation projects exploring new methods, data sources, or AI applications that reshape pricing and underwriting.
Requirements
- Newly or recently qualified actuary with pricing experience in commercial, specialty, or reinsurance markets (reinsurance exposure a plus).
- Contributed to the development or enhancement of pricing models and experience of model application in live underwriting.
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders by explaining technical work clearly and supporting decisions beyond the model.
- Demonstrated interest in the commercial impact of actuarial work through projects, client-facing exposure, or transformation initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with actuarial and analytical tools (e.g. R, Python, data pipelines) and comfort discussing methods, assumptions, and trade-offs.
- Comfortable with hybrid working: spending 2–3 days together in the office each week.
- Eligible to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available).
- Willingness to engage with and apply AI, automation, and portfolio intelligence in pricing workflows.
