Manage a book of commercial insurance business and provide professional, courteous service to clients, carriers, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues
Work closely with Producers and HUB personnel on client service, marketing, and renewals following HUB best practices
Prepare and implement transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts; act as backup for other support staff
Acquire understanding of clients’ insurance objectives and analyze/compare insurance plans for suitability; coordinate implementation of client strategic plans
Perform value-added services including Pre-Renewal Strategic Planning, Risk ID Assessments, Contract Reviews, Claims Reviews, Market Analysis, Stewardship Reports, Deductible Analysis
Act as liaison to resolve escalated complex service issues and negotiate with underwriters/carriers when needed
Troubleshoot claims and billing issues and document client account activities in HUB systems
Identify opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell, support account rounding and new business development as appropriate
Support, mentor, and train less experienced Account Managers and Assistant Account Managers
Prepare reports, proposals and comparisons; seek continued industry knowledge and attend continuing education
Requirements
High School Diploma / GED
5+ years account management experience (brokerage preferred) or equivalent combination of education & experience
Property & Causality License
Ability to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing with internal and external customers
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook and agency management systems
Critical Thinking and Problem Solving abilities
Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry
Confidence and demeanor to effectively interact with all levels within the organization
Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships and work with insurance and service vendors
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages
Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities
Ability to effectively work with a team and coach others in developing their skills
