Serve as a technical ambassador supporting customers across North America and globally.
Installation & Commissioning: Lead or support the setup and start-up of industrial ovens and related extrusion systems, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to engineering specifications.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in the field; perform corrective actions and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
Customer Training: Provide hands-on and classroom-style training to customer personnel on equipment operation, safety, and maintenance best practices.
Technical Reporting & Documentation: Document service activities, complete detailed Trip Reports, maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities, and submit field data to internal teams.
Recommend spare parts for maintaining equipment.
Training and Support: Provide onsite training and support for clients on the proper use and maintenance of automated equipment.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Interface with engineering, manufacturing, and customer service teams to relay field insights and contribute to continuous product improvement.
Report directly to the Manager of Field Service Support as part of the Aftermarket Service team.
Extensive travel to customer sites (travel Monday-Friday, home most weekends).
Requirements
Associate degree in industrial electricity, electronic engineering technology, or equivalent technical training.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with industrial ovens, preferably in field service or capital equipment assembly.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including ability to read schematics and interpret engineering documentation.
Proficiency with hand tools and diagnostic instruments (e.g., multimeters).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must reside within one hour of a major airport.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, often on short notice, with flexibility to travel up to 70% of the time.
Experience with bakery or extrusion equipment (preferred).
Experience working with HMI (Human Machine Interface), Wonderware using RS Logics 5000, CompactLogix Processor/Allen-Bradley, RSView, ControlLogix, RS Logics 500, Omron PLC/HMI, and related systems (preferred).
Knowledge of computer networking, Ethernet IP, Devicenet, RS232 communications, and motor drive technologies such as AC/DC Drives and VFDs (preferred).
