About the role

  • Work as a team member of an integrated project team
  • Perform walkdowns in existing plant facilities to generate design documents and provide field support to craft personnel
  • Apply technical expertise and engineering principles with an instrumentation/controls focus for equipment process control and monitoring
  • Provide self-performed technical solutions using established engineering practices, codes, and standards
  • Field troubleshooting support of existing systems to inform design for corrective actions
  • Prepare conduit/cable schedules, conduit/equipment plans, one-line diagrams, wiring/connection/schematic diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, sections/elevations/details, calculations, datasheets, and construction specifications
  • Develop control cabinet assembly drawings, system diagrams, and control logic for batch and continuous processes using analog instrumentation, DCS, and PLC/HMIs
  • Develop process control system narratives, aid in development of process software requirements, and provide input to P&IDs
  • Provide field support and technical documentation to support construction and craft personnel
  • Position is full-time on a 4/10 schedule (Mon.-Thu.)

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering from ABET accredited program
  • >5 yrs instrumentation and controls design engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing the National Electrical Code (NEC), UL508A, and relevant ISA standards
  • Experience utilizing Rockwell Automation industrial automation software (RSLogix, FactoryTalk View, etc.) preferred but not required
  • DOE Q-Clearance highly desired but not required to start work; uncleared candidates expected to apply for a clearance after starting work
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred but not required
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship required due to government/federal regulations
