About the role
- Manage and further develop expertise in dental product categories (typically $300–$400M) to increase sales, market share and profitability
- Ownership of all activities surrounding category performance including sales and market share analysis and identifying underperforming categories
- Develop plans and programs to drive sales and market share in branded and private brand products
- Provide strategic guidance on private brand product additions and line extensions
- Manage new product submission process: review submissions, determine acceptance/rejection, pricing, forecast and opening order quantities
- Oversee new item code creation, web attributes and descriptions, and development of catalog copy; coordinate promotional plans with suppliers
- Determine featured products and pricing for flyers and work with Associates/Specialists to produce layouts and pricing spreadsheets
- Negotiate buying deals with suppliers and oversee communication and implementation to Inventory Management
- Review marketing product classifications, item descriptions, images, A-system/ecommerce classifications to ensure integrity of product content
- Review and approve products identified by SKU Optimization for stocking, non-stocking and inventory returns
- Manage layout and presentation for Henry Schein Dental and Specialty Catalogs/Flyers and perform competitive pricing analysis
- Manage at least one direct report and participate in special projects as required
Requirements
- Typically 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of applicable professional experience
- 1 or more years of management experience
- Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline (Master's degree a plus)
- Must be the Product Category Expert within the Dental Group/Industry
- Excellent Excel Skills
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills; train, lead, and develop team members on processes and procedures
