About the role

  • Own the payroll product area end-to-end: discovery, requirements gathering, roadmap development, and release execution.
  • Translate payroll regulations, compliance requirements, and customer needs into actionable user stories and product requirements.
  • Partner with design, operations, and engineering to build workflows for payroll calculation, approvals, funding, treasury, reporting, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with operations and QA to ensure accuracy in calculations and compliance across multiple geographies.
  • Gather insights from finance, operations, and customer support teams to drive prioritization of payroll features and improvements.
  • Stay ahead of global payroll compliance changes and evolving customer expectations to inform the roadmap.
  • Drive Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews for payroll initiatives.
  • Ensure payroll releases align with both customer requirements and business objectives for scalability and efficiency.
  • Create clear documentation for payroll features, including use cases, business cases, and ROI.
  • Communicate updates and progress regularly with stakeholders, and provide external-facing product content where needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product management or related experience within technology or SaaS, ideally with exposure to payroll or fintech.
  • Proven ability to manage complex product lifecycles and deliver impactful B2B solutions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering, design, finance, and compliance teams.
  • Comfort translating complex regulatory and financial requirements into clear product solutions.
  • Hands-on experience working in Agile environments with direct involvement in sprint planning and backlog management.
  • A customer-first mindset with the ability to balance compliance, accuracy, and usability.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and quickly learns new domains.
