Backend Engineer

• Design, develop, and optimize data-intensive backend services using Java (Spring Boot)

Operations

• Conduct pre-game system checks and promptly resolve any issues
• Liaise daily with Supervisors, Coordinators, and Leads across projects
• Communicate remotely with external clients and NBA/G-League, NFL, or NHL personnel via Slack
• Monitor live operations and ensure nightly data quality
• Assist operators in providing real-time, quality data to MLB and NBA
• Support investigations related to live data quality
• Report and troubleshoot hardware, software, or operational issues impacting data delivery

Operator – LiveOps Tracking

• Accountable for the live delivery of our Hockey SkeleTRACK and SMART Systems in both the NHL and WHL.
• Liaising with league staff, onsite technicians and internal operators to deliver a flawless operation.
• Identify potential issues and work to find solutions to maximize operational efficiency.
• Execute daily hardware investigations and resolutions.
• Execute software roll-outs and address data investigation tasks.
• Communicate updates across teams and ensure follow-up and resolutions are carried out.

Full-stack Engineer

• Continued development of the KinaTrax Dugout web application tool based on company needs and client requests.
• Lead the maintenance of pre-existing functions and dependencies in the KinaTrax Dugout web application tool.
• Development of new software applications, with priority on the development of web reporting applications for additional sports (i.e. NBA, NHL).
• Implement reusable components and contribute to improving the shared component library across web reporting applications.
• Integration of data using API concepts from a variety of sources, with the aim of optimizing data ingestion.
• Utilize data-driven solutions to ensure company information is stored effectively and securely.

Software Engineer

• The Software Engineer - Tools will work alongside the larger KinaTrax product development team with a particular focus on KinaTrax client-facing tools used for data collection, processing, calibration, and annotation, with the goal of providing a simpler and more efficient solution for our clients. Some of these development efforts may include the adaptation of current tools to cloud based solutions and the evolution of our tool concepts for use in other biomechanics related markets. Within this role you may also be tasked with improving our software interfacing to fit within the larger Sony sports business data architecture, with the goal of optimizing data access both internally and for our clients. As part of your role, you will collaborate with other members of the product development team on specific projects, where at times you may be expected to be a project development lead.
• Continued development and maintenance of client facing and internal company tools used for data acquisition, processing, quality, etc.
• Optimization of data related tools within cloud-based environments to improve tool efficiency.
• Development of client-facing operations tools for other biomechanics-related markets.
• Improve or implement hardware/software interfaces within hardware solutions already in use, or future hardware solutions, determined based on company need and/or client feedback.

• As a database architect you will work alongside the larger KinaTrax product development team with a global focus on the continued development of tools aimed at a consistent, high quality, end-to-end data solution for both internal and client facing purposes.
• You will be tasked with developing data architecture processes to be used for large scale biomechanics/motion capture datasets across a variety of sports platforms.
• You will also be charged with further development of back and front-end tasks including but not limited to hardware/software interfacing, cloud computing, and client facing data visualization tools.
• Continued development of database(s) for all sport platforms with the aim of efficiently storing and navigating large biomechanics datasets.
• Continued development of client facing API solutions, establishing database access for internal and client use cases.
• Optimization of server load balancing techniques with the aim of allowing for high-speed data egress alongside a continuously growing client base.
• Develop data-driven solutions to ensure company information is stored effectively and securely.
