About the role
- Work alongside Software Engineering teams, Product Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and engage with Clients & Users to gain understanding of client needs and existing software architecture
- Help define and execute product vision, manage Product backlog, prioritize product needs, and work closely with the software development team to see products through to completion and release
- Research and analysis to map business processes and develop, define, and prioritize backlog items such as epics, features, and user stories
- Drive product through all stages of product life cycle from design and development to testing
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal subject matter experts to define business processes, goals, user personas, and user journeys and translate into technical requirements and User Stories
- Develop and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on maximum value aligned with product strategy
- Product backlog management including optimization and prioritization based on changing requirements
- Work with engineering teams to determine functional solutions meet business needs
- Act as primary contact of the product, translating vision and business needs between clients, software engineers, and stakeholders
- Actively participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints
- Monitor and evaluate product progress at each stage
- Perform user acceptance testing
- Manage and oversee timelines for implementation, delivery schedules, and deadlines
- Coordinate with Product and Client Success to identify, prioritize, and resolve product issues and feature requests post-release
- Become subject matter expert in local government
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Client Experience to gather feedback and share product feature knowledge
- Analyze product usage to identify improvements
- Document product features including client-facing instructions and in-app documentation
- Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions
Requirements
- College degree in business, IT, or related field OR 2 years of experience in business analysis or a related field
- Knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
- Knowledge of Product development architecture
- Product Ownership experience a plus
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Ability to influence stakeholders
- Advanced technical skills
- Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
- Track record of following through on commitments
- Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills
- Diligent problem-solver with strong attention-to-detail
- Able to work with minimal supervision whether in the office or working from home
- SaaS experience a plus
- Willingness to attend 4-6 conferences in territory each year for sales team (if applicable)

- Willingness to attend final onsite interview at Omaha office (travel costs covered)
