About the role

  • Design and execute laboratory experiments to advance scientific understanding and support drug discovery in neurodegeneration or renal disease
  • Support identification and validation of clinical biomarkers and development of clinically deployable biomarker assays
  • Apply expertise in immunoassays (ELISA/MSD/Quanterix), Western/JESS, flow cytometry, gene/protein expression analysis, proteomics, and other omics platforms
  • Troubleshoot assays and develop alternative approaches, working closely with preclinical statistics and relevant teams to ensure robust study design
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records in alignment with data integrity expectations and ensure compliance with protocols and safety guidelines
  • Lead key activities to progress projects and career within the Translational Unit

Requirements

  • PhD in a scientific discipline (e.g., Molecular Biology, Genetics, Immunology, or related field) with relevant laboratory experience
  • 4+ years’ experience in translational and biomarker development
  • Experience with handling of primary human cells
  • Experience with immunoassays (ELISA, MSD, Quanterix)
  • Experience with multi-color flow cytometry
  • Experience with gene expression analysis and protein expression analysis
  • Experience in renal disease or neurodegeneration disease areas
  • Experience with Western/JESS, proteomics, and other omics platforms (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving and critical analysis skills (preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present to multidisciplinary stakeholders (preferred)
  • Proven ability to balance priorities across multiple objectives and meet timelines (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment (preferred)
  • Must be able to work on-site at either Upper Providence, Pennsylvania (USA) or Stevenage (UK) laboratory sites
