About the role
- Oversee Postings, Ledger Control, and cleanup of balance sheet (General Ledger Monitoring)
- Oversee and supervise Accounts Payable role; ensure supplier balances are legitimate and expense postings accurate
- Oversee and supervise Accounts Receivable role; ensure customer balances are legitimate and follow up on overdue accounts
- Assist with approval of sales orders and confirm receipt of funds before inventory release
- Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations (banks and mobile money wallets) weekly and monthly
- Monitor general ledgers for consistency and explain extreme movements
- Collaborate on tax filings (WHT and VAT) and ensure timely tax payments
- Execute month-end close procedures including depreciation, GIT, salary and bonus entries; assist monthly P&L and balance review
- Ensure fixed assets, rent and prepaid trackers reconcile with GL balances
- Monitor and ensure COGS distribution and follow up with Operations for closure
- Review marketing expenses with Marketing team
- Maintain intercompany transaction records and assist with intercompany reconciliations
- Work closely with Finance Manager to close annual statutory audits within timelines
- Process employee reimbursements via Zoho expense and manage Angaza credits for sales agents
- Perform any other duties as assigned by managers
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or any related other related field
- CPA/ACCA Finalist is a MUST
- Must be Computer literate; proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must have strong Analytical and Communication skills
- Team player and proactive to learn
- Must be honest and of high integrity
- Must be able to work under pressure with strict deadlines and with minimal or no supervision
- Proficient in Data Entry and Management
- 5 years Accounts Payable and Receivables or General Accounting Experience
