Accountant

• Independently perform monthly closing duties including journal entry preparation and account analysis
• Prepare financial statements, budget preparation, executive management reports and statutory required reports for assigned entity
• Prepare and analyze material general ledger account balances and audit schedules
• Manage and reconcile banking accounting process daily and reconcile postings to subsidiary systems
• Analyze actual operating data and prepare key operating indicator scorecards
• Perform research into complex accounting issues and respond to external auditor information requests
• Establish new awards in the accounting system and coordinate department and budget setup for new awards
• Support preparation of tax and audit schedules, month-end and year-end closing processes
• Make recommendations to enhance internal controls and operating performance
• Serve as a mentor to junior team members and assist with training and onboarding
• Interface across the organization with various system departments, external business partners, auditors, and government agencies
