About the role
- Manage and draft key client pitches and responses to requests for proposals (RFPs)
- Develop and organize related collateral materials and maintain proposal libraries
- Improve best practices for RFP and proposal processes across the firm
- Work collaboratively as part of the global Marketing and Business Development Team; report to the Director of Marketing and Business Development
- Project manage RFPs and high-value proposals in designated industries
- Oversee development and maintenance of industry RFP response library, templates, maps, and commonly asked question response library
- Communicate with firm leadership and attorneys to ensure strategic and effective RFP responses
- Review RFP win/loss statistics and develop adjustments to increase win rates
- Collaborate with Marketing team members to customize responses and drive success
- Serve as primary point of contact for RFP team with Office of General Counsel, Conflicts, Technology, and Revenue Management
- Assess competitive environment and gather intelligence on proposal strategies used by other professional services firms
- Work with RFP Project Manager to manage and supervise RFP Team staff and assignments
- Facilitate internal communication related to marketing efforts and RFPs
- Serve as a resource and mentor; be knowledgeable of department protocols and firm systems
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
- Perform other projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Minimum of five years’ experience with significant responsibilities associated with proposal writing and business development support, or a related field
- High level of proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience at a law firm or professional services firm is strongly preferred
- Technology Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook required
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Well-developed strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Self-starter and team player, able to accept direction, yet work independently
