Assist Senior Electrical Engineer in consulting with customer to determine functional and spatial requirements of new electrical systems and prepare design/specification information
Assist with layout of projects and integrate electrical engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval
Perform lighting calculations and layout designs using manual calculations and Visual Lighting Computational software
Conduct energy analysis, power density and life cycle cost analysis and life cycle cost analysis for system selection and LEED credit calculation
Perform calculations and sizing of power distribution systems
Evaluate and design industrial grounding and lightning protection systems
Design and layout Building Communications, Signal and Fire Alarm systems
Assist in evaluation of submittals and scope of work from Electrical Subcontractors
Prepare scale drawings, contract and construction documents and conduct periodic on-site observation during construction to monitor compliance
Prepare studies and reports and project designs using computer assisted design software; drafting using AutoCAD (2007) with AutoCAD 2008 MEP and Revit MEP as a plus
Requirements
Students legally authorized to work in the U.S. that do not need current and/or future visa sponsorship
Knowledge of basic electrical power systems, life safety systems and lighting
Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
Ability to perform lighting calculations and layout using manual calculations and Visual Lighting Computational software
