About the role
- Studies mechanical, electrical, piping, plumbing and fire protection specifications to plan construction procedures
- Assist MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Assist in developing scopes of work and MEP project schedules within the entire construction schedule
- Prepare estimates for MEP self-performed work and assist in complete project estimate
- Coordinate/management of all trades throughout build process; schedule work including subcontractors
- Solicit prices, assist selection of qualified bidders, negotiate final prices, and draft subcontracts and purchase orders
- Prepare reports such as cost to complete, monthly billings and status reports; review and maintain current drawings and P&IDs
- Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion; determine materials, equipment and tools needed
- Responsible for procurement of tools and materials and site set up/close out
- Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards; implement and enforce Gray’s safety program and QMS
- Serve as on-site Safety Officer when not specifically assigned; participate in company’s safety portion of the QMS program
- Manage multiple subordinate team members; train, plan, assign, direct work, and address complaints and grievances
- May be required to work overtime and travel to project sites
Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school
- Minimum five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail applications
- Energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment and has a passion for collaboration and professional development
- Willingness to travel as projects are scattered throughout the United States and, in some cases outside of the U.S.
- Ability to serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project
- Ability to perform physical demands including frequently lifting/moving up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
- Meets physical requirements: stand, walk, sit, use hands and arms, reach, talk or hear, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
