About the role

  • Ensure linkage between procurement and manufacturing facilities and serve as communications conduit between suppliers and manufacturing
  • Facilitate the supplier capacity assurance process, providing capacity guidance to suppliers, analyzing and proposing potential solutions for capacity constraints, and facilitating allocation discussions
  • Manage procurement strategies to minimize risk, foster innovation, and optimize business processes
  • Foster communication among key procurement stakeholders across business units and functions
  • Lead analysis of key trends and issues in supply for assigned products and provide escalation point for quality issues, bridging Supplier Quality and commercial Sourcing teams
  • Identify, plan, and implement continuous improvement opportunities to manage supplier performance and improve plant metrics (downtime, supplier defects, premium freight, supplier capacity, new product metrics)
  • Provide delivery and expediting support to plants/sites during supplier issues and solve problems using systematic analysis to identify root causes and recommend prevention actions
  • Create and negotiate contracts incorporating commercial requirements and regional laws, driving stakeholder consensus and legal approval
  • Build strong supplier relationships and serve as primary contact for issue resolution
  • Apply supply base risk management using risk analysis tools and mitigation playbooks to manage continuity of supply, reputational risk, and margin risk

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Logistics Management, Business Analytics or related field and 3 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer, Supply Chain or Sourcing Analyst or Planner, Procurement and Supply Continuity Specialist or related position
  • Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Logistics Management, Business Analytics or related field and 5 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer, Supply Chain or Sourcing Analyst or Planner, Procurement and Supply Continuity Specialist or related position
  • Experience with Supplier capacity assurance process
  • Procurement strategy management
  • Identify, plan, and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain
  • Supplier performance management
  • Cross functional project management
  • Root cause analysis and problem solving using systematic analysis and industry standard methodologies
  • Knowledge of Procurement Ethics

  • Willingness/ability to work on-site in Columbus, IN and various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S.
