Work as an Electrical Engineering Intern in Gray AES’s Atlanta, GA office in the Electrical Engineering group
Assist Senior Electrical Engineer in consulting with customers to determine functional and spatial requirements for new electrical systems and renovations
Assist with layout of projects and integrate electrical engineering elements into unified designs for client review and approval
Perform lighting calculations and layout designs using manual methods and Visual Lighting Computational software
Conduct energy analysis, power density and life cycle cost analysis for system selection and LEED credit calculation
Perform calculations and sizing of power distribution systems
Evaluate and design industrial grounding and lightning protection systems
Design and layout Building Communications, Signal, and Fire Alarm systems
Assist in evaluation of submittals and scope of work from Electrical Subcontractors
Prepare scale drawings, contract and construction documents, and periodic on-site observation to monitor compliance
Prepare studies, reports, and project designs using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit MEP)
Requirements
Students legally authorized to work in the U.S.; no current or future visa sponsorship provided
Knowledge of basic electrical power systems, life safety systems, and lighting
Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
Ability to perform lighting calculations and layout designs (manual and Visual Lighting Computational software)
