About the role
- Support the design of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, grounding, and low-voltage systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist in preparing design calculations and documentation to ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.
- Contribute to the development of plans, specifications, and design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Participate in quality control reviews, learning to identify design inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and engineering teams to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
- Help review contractor RFIs, shop drawings, and product submittals, with support from senior staff.
- Attend internal and client meetings to gain exposure to project coordination and communication practices.
- Engage in on-the-job training and mentorship, actively building technical and professional skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineering License is required.
- 3+ years of professional experience in electrical design or related engineering work.
- Strong interest in building systems design, including lighting, power, and low-voltage systems.
- Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD is preferred; willingness to learn BIM workflows and modeling tools is expected.
- Basic understanding of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA) is a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, with attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
