About the role
- Serve as lead electrical engineer on assigned projects, overseeing design scope, technical quality, and code compliance.
- Develop and validate electrical system designs, including lighting, power, grounding, and low-voltage systems tailored to project and client needs.
- Perform and review design calculations, energy code compliance assessments, and system performance modeling.
- Lead the coordination of electrical design with architectural, structural, mechanical, and technology disciplines.
- Produce and oversee drawings, specifications, and BIM models, ensuring accuracy and integration across project phases.
- Manage project schedules and budgets related to electrical scope, supporting project managers in planning and execution.
- Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings, ensuring design intent and quality standards are upheld.
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and site visits, representing the electrical discipline and providing technical leadership.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of internal design standards and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering technical growth and team collaboration.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
- 7–10 years of professional experience in electrical design engineering, with a strong background in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
- Proven expertise in electrical systems design, including lighting, power distribution, grounding, lightning protection, telecommunications, and security systems.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, IBC, and client-specific requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination workflows, with experience leading model integration and clash detection.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead client discussions, present technical concepts, and coordinate across disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project deliverables, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to strategic planning and quality assurance.
