About the role
- Provide technical support for computers and associated networks for USCG Maverick contract
- Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers, network equipment (servers, modems, multiplexers), related software, telephones, cables, and connectors
- Connect personal computers and terminals to existing data networks
- Maintain network diagrams, circuit records, and trouble logs
- Instruct users in the use of personal computers and networks and develop training materials
- Investigate information, network, and communications needs and recommend software and hardware purchases
- Perform basic PC, PBX, and network software programming and minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripherals
- Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients/staff in person, via telephone or remotely
- Maintain records of daily transactions, problems, remedial actions, and installations
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree with 12+ years of IT experience or commensurate experience
- Must be clearable up to an active Secret clearance
- Experience providing technical support for computers and networks
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing PCs, servers, modems, multiplexers, telephones, cables, and connectors
- Demonstrated ability to maintain network diagrams and circuit records and trouble logs
- Ability to instruct users in the use of personal computers and networks
- Experience performing basic PC, PBX, and network software programming
- Experience installing and performing minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
- Experience answering questions or resolving computer problems in person, via telephone, or remotely
- Experience maintaining records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities
- Experience developing training materials and procedures, and training users
