About the role
- Administer and maintain Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) systems across Air Force network infrastructure
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level Cisco Unified Communications solutions
- Perform user account management, device configuration, and phone provisioning per DoD guidelines
- Monitor system performance, execute routine maintenance tasks, backups, and system health checks following DISA STIGs
- Provide tier 2/3 technical support for voice and unified communications issues
- Assist with system upgrades and patch management under senior engineer guidance
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and changes per DoD requirements
- Support dial plan management and call routing configurations and coordinate with vendors/service providers
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and support after-hours maintenance windows and emergency response activities
Requirements
- 10+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s degree in relevant field may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience)
- Deep understanding of Cisco VoIP technologies, unified communications, and collaboration solutions
- Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) administration, configuration, and maintenance
- Experience with phone provisioning, user management, and device configuration
- Understanding of dial plans, call routing, and voice gateway configurations
- Familiarity with Cisco Unity Connection and voicemail administration
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS)
- Ensure compliance with DoD 8570.01-M and DoD 8140.03 certification requirements
- Required DoD 8140 compliant certification such as CompTIA Security+ (CCNA Collaboration/CCNP/CCIE Collaboration preferred)
- Ability to obtain/maintain Secret Clearance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and support after-hours maintenance and emergency response
